DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY
I BELIEVE THAT THE FABRIC IS A WOOL AND SILK BLEND AND IS FIGURED WITH A PATTERN THROUGHOUT.
FINE PLEATING IN CHEVRON FASHION IS ACROSS THE FRONT WITH BANDS OF SILK EDGED BLACK CHANTILLY LACE TRIMMING AND THE SAME DETAILING IS ON THE OUTER SLEEVES WITH THE CUFFS ENDING IN POINTED FASHION.
HIGH COLLAR ENCIRCLES THE NECKLINE AND IS TRIMMED IN CHANTILLY LACE WITH SILK BOWS IN THE REAR AND A FRILL OF BLACK DOT NET AT THE CENTER FRONT.
INNER PETERSHAM IS UNMARKED AND THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN COTTON
CONDITION
:  HEAVY YELLOWED AGE COLOR SEEN TO THE FABRIC.  I HAVE MADE NO ATTEMPT TO CLEAN.  THERE IS A WATER STAIN AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT FRONT AT THE CLOSURE THAT IS MOSTLY SEEN FROM THE INTERIOR.  THE CUFFS ORIGINALLY HAD A NET RUFFLE THAT MATCHED THE ONE ON THE FRONT NECKLINE, ONE IS MISSING WITH THE OTHER ONE SPLITTING.
